Latest jobs for Sub_editors http://www.pressjobs.co.uk/ 08-09-2010 <strong>Location:</strong> Abu Dhabi<br /><strong>URL:</strong> <a href="http://www.thenational.ae">http://www.thenational.ae</a><br /><br /><strong>Description:</strong><br /> <p>The National, the new English-language newspaper based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is seeking three senior sub-editors for an Arabian adventure.</p> <p>Led by Martin Newland, former editor of The Daily Telegraph, the newspaper has brought together journalists from some of the most prominent news organisations in the UK and North America, including The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The New York Times and The Washington Post.</p> <p>The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the finer points of newspaper editing – from general news to magazine-style features – and be able to help foster a culture of accuracy and professionalism in the newsroom. Chief sub-editors and deputy chief sub-editors who have taken redundancy or who have recently retired are especially encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Middle Eastern issues and culture is preferred but not required.</p> <p>We offer a very competitive salary and benefits package, including one flight home a year. Income in the <span class="caps">UAE</span> is tax-free.
