The ideal candidate will gather, shoot, edit, write, produce and present news and interviews in a clear and concise way.

You will write active news copy and engage the viewer in compelling pre-recorded interviews and commentary.

You will also be equally comfortable with shooting, editing and on-air reporting, and experienced in all three disciplines.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Developing and planning live or taped video segments. This can include setting up interviews, determining where a segment is to be shot and selecting the shots to be used. Attending and filming industry events on behalf of Solar Media. As a reporter, you will compile data from various sources, investigate, analyse and write the stories and edit them. As a cameraman you will operate the camera, light and sound equipment. You will take the footage you\‘ve acquired and create news and feature segments, suitable for broadcasting online. You will assist in training other members of the team in video journalism techniques.

The successful applicant will have:

Complete fluency with use of HD cameras and an ability to shoot video to a broadcast-quality level. Complete fluency with Final Cut Pro and/or Cyberlink Power Director, and an ability to edit stories to deadline with imagination and flair. Strong on-air writing skills and at least a year’s on-air experience.
